Easter Sunday

I ate most of the Easter candy on Wednesday. This is kind of becoming a tradition for me : ). I decided to make cookies so that I would have SOMETHING to fill Easter baskets with.
I can't take credit for the cute little animals. I found them at Bi Mart, and they made the cookies look 10 times cuter!
Here are a few of my favorites...

Danny taught me two valuable lessons today...

(1) I can't take my eyes off of him for a second when he's near stairs, (2) and that it's a TERRIBLE idea to take pictures right before nap time.

Story #1-I was letting Danny get his wiggles out at church before trying to get him to sleep. He really wanted to climb up the stairs in the chapel after sacrament meeting was over, so I helped him up the stairs. I turned around to say hi to his little friend that was coming up to do the same thing. I turned back to Danny just in time to see him fall down all three steps and smack his head on the floor. Knowing that your baby is hurting because you weren't paying attention is probably the worst feeling in the world. I cried through almost ALL of Relief Society. Just when I would get it under control I would look down at the huge red mark on his head and loose it again. A girl I've never met brought me a bunch of tissues. Hopefully no one else noticed.

Story number #2- Pictures at nap time. Enough said.

He was really mad when I sat him down in the grass.

Oh look a car! Maybe he'll smile!

Nope. Still mad. He looked so cute in his little Easter outfit.

So even though there were a lot of tears (from both me and Danny), we still had a Happy Easter. I didn't plan an egg hunt for Danny, so he did a little hunting of his own in Dad's wallet.

Aww, there's a smile : ).

Danny's Cuteness

These video clips are a couple months old, but I love them. I hope you enjoy watching them, because we sure do : ).

Nick's B-day
*(Nick's half eaten cheesecake. We had to test it the night before to make sure it was good).

I get so excited for Nick's Birthday every year. Maybe a little too excited. I start planning it out in my head a day or two after Christmas is over. I have a secret notebook where I write down my brilliant ideas as they come (he-he)!

I had big plans this year like a surprise trip to the coast for the weekend, and a two tiered fondant cake! But Nick likes his Birthday to be simple and relaxing, so we kept it that way : ).

Nick doesn't usually get any "real" presents for his Birthday. Apple comes out with some sort of new computer or i-pad at the beginning of the year, and Nick can't rest until he has one ; ), so our Birthday budget is usually spent by the time April gets here. I don't mind too much though. It's fun to come up with creative, inexpensive ideas. This year I surprised him with a bunch of his favorite treats throughout the day! We stayed home, ate cheesecake, and snuggled on the couch while we watched Harry Potter. It was a good day.

Side note: We found out that Nick will be going to Officer Candidate School at the end of August rather than the beginning of July! We're excited to have more time together after graduation.

I slipped a wallet size copy of this in his Birthday card, because every sailor should have one of these in his wallet : ).

Happy Birthday Nick!

April the 1st
Was a busy day...

I took Danny on two walks today. That boy is just happiest when he's outside.
Nick joined us on the second walk to the park. This is only the second time Danny has played at a park, so it's all very new and exciting to him! His favorite things are the swing and the slide. He's so much fun.

Then we came home and sat down for a nice dinner of spinach salad and pork fried rice. Nick's had a few surprises in it : )! He took a bite of the salad first, and gave me a funny look. I kept a straight face and watched him out the side of my eye. He took a couple more bites, and kept looking from my salad to his. Maybe he noticed mine didn't have any florescent green peas.

Then he tried to take a drink of his jello and made an even FUNNIER face. I couldn't hold it back anymore. I yelled out "APRIL FOOLS!" and burst out laughing. It feels good to laugh out loud like that. He refused to try any of the other food, so I helped him pick the pink Starbursts out of his rice. I didn't do anything to his biscuit, but he was still nervous to try it. Ha ha!

Also...
Did you know that if you put a sticky note under the mouse, it blocks the sensor and won't work? Thanks to my friend Amber for that idea!

I wasn't the only one being sneaky today though. Somehow my dresser drawers got put in the wrong order, and when I opened the coat closet the garbage can and mop came crashing down on me. Nick said something about three being the magic number. I'm wondering if he has something else in store for me, so I think I'll just hurry and go to bed!
