Now that Nick is student teaching, we are on the same work schedule which means a whole week off together every spring break!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so great to have the same days off.
We decided to stay home and get house projects done.
Building Danny a bed was not on the list, but Nick saw the plans at http://ana-white.com and the next thing I knew he was running out the door to buy wood!
Danny was SO excited and Nick didn't stop until it was done.
Danny had to help of course, because he is a 3 year old and always has to be in on the action.
The only things that could keep him out of the garage were when Nick used the saw or the "loud drill."
Danny took his work VERY seriously.
Here's the handsome builder. I must say I am quite impressed with his skills!
We picked a medium dark stain and I love how it looks in his room. Nick built it and stained it in the garage, and then we took it apart in four big pieces to move it inside.
TADA! It looks amazing. Nick just finished the little windows last weekend. I spray painted them red and used left over paint from his blue accent wall to paint the sign.
Don't you dare call it a tree house. It's his "CLUBHOUSE!" He let's me know it every time.
As you can imagine, Danny is a very VERY happy boy. Who wouldn't want a clubhouse for a bed?
