Wedding Cake

This is a wedding cake/cupcakes I made for wedding last week and I REALLY like who they turned out!

 I graduated with the bride and groom. It's always more fun for me when I know the people who are getting married. 

This cake topper that the bride picked out was perfect and matched all the other decorations. I wish I had taken pictures of everything else. It was the cutest wedding/reception I've ever been to! 

The big flowers on the cake were really fun to make. I made them out of modeling chocolate which luckily stuck to the fondant cake with a little royal icing. I really didn't know if they would stay on in the hot weather. 

 The little cupcakes held up good in the heat too. I've heard so many nightmare stories about wedding cakes melting at outdoor receptions, so I was pretty stressed about that. Everything turned out great though! Yay!

Boy it was tough getting these done in my 8th month of pregnancy! I think I'll take a long loooooong maternity leave from making cakes! (Like at least a year). It was a fun project though, and a great note to end on before little Lilly's arrival!
