October was a good month. I was getting the hang of the mother of two thing and starting to wear clothes other than stretchy pants and pj's and go places. Danny took this picture of me holding Lilly. It's one of the only ones I have since I wasn't very excited about getting pictures taken of myself at that time.
Lilly was about
two months and one week in this picture. I thuroughly enjoyed all the little girl dresses and bows. I put her in this dress just for fun and pictures that day. I couldn't play dress up for too long though. The girl did not like getting dressed and STILL doesn't.
This is a cute little pumpkin patch at Bellinger's Farm. This was Danny's second year going with us and our Leonard family, and it is becoming a tradition that I love! Today it is September 14, 2014 and I am already so excited to go again this year!
There is a little wagon/hay ride that takes you around the pumpkin patch and lets you off to pick out your pumpkin. After we pick our pumpkins we usually go to Denny's and get hot chocolate and lunch.
Danny loves the pumpkin patch so much and is starting to remember past years. He's at the perfect age to start our family traiditons!
Speaking of traditions, I love our simple and fun traditions for Halloween that are forming. Decorating the house of course, pumpkin carving, trick or treating to the grandparent's houses and then a little trick or treating around the neighborhood if we get home in time. Sweet and simple.
Danny's first Halloween party at Preschool was a ton of fun. I went with him that day to help with the party. They had pumpkin bowling where you got to knock down ghosts made out of toilet paper rolls with a pumpkin, and they ate dirt and worms for snack time.
Most of the boys were transformers that year. I guess we were really out of it because Danny had no clue what a transformer was! I was pleased with how his Superman get up turned out though : ).
Danny eating his first and worms.
I did my best but that hair cannot be tamed. When we left the house it was nice and slick like Clark Kent's, but like Harry Potter, it always finds it's way back to it's cute curly messiness.
Incase you haven't noticed, Danny wears's his red rain boots year 'round, so it was just great that he happened to pick a character that wore red boots. Everywhere we would go Danny got a compliment on his red boots. Especially in the middle of summer ; ) I speak about them in the past tense because he just recently grew out of them, which is very sad. We'll have to add those to the Christmas list this year.
Pumpkin carving with dad.
There's somethin' about a guy patiently carving pumpkins with his 4 year old that I find VERY attractive ; )
I love Halloween!
These last few pictures were taken in November. I snuck down to Cahce's Baptism in November with the kids. Amie took this picture of me with Lilly, which I think I am going to love in years to come. I'm trying not to shy away from the camera so much, because I know I will want to see my young unwrinkled face smiling with my kids next to me someday.
Here is Danny with his Aunt Ashley. This was taken at Amie's house over Thanksgiving. Sometimes he acts a little snotty to her and plays hard to get around her, but he secretly loves her and tells me that he misses her.
These last two were also taken in November just about a month before Danny turned 4. I have about 15 shots similar to these on my camera. After numerous attempts to get the perfect shot of him flying through the air that was not blurry (all his idea), we settled for these two. He just loves to look at them.
