Since Nick has started OCS (about a week ago), I've received one teeny tiny phone call, and one email. We both thought he wouldn't be able to call until week four, so this has been pretty exciting for me!
He was able to call just a few days after training started. I think it was literally a 60 second phone call, so I didn't get any details out of him. He just wanted to make sure we were alright, and if Danny was adjusting ok. His voice was shot from all the yelling and reciting they make him do. He sounded exhausted and stressed, and the last thing he said before goodbye was, "I hope I make it Sarah." : (. It was really sad, but SO good to hear from him.
Yesterday I got a short email, and he sounded in much better spirits! All he said was that it is CRAZY there, but that he hasn't been rolled yet. That means he has passed all the challenges so far!
I have NO idea when he'll call or email next, so I keep my phone with me constantly!
It's kind of like writing to him on his mission again. That's kind funny too because when he got home from his mission, I remember telling him that I NEVER want to do anything like that again! Hmmm.... life is funny.
Oh, if any of you see a good count down widget I can use for my blog, PLEASE let me know. I want one that will count down the weeks, NOT days. Counting the days will only make it go slower.
Danny is still adjusting really well. I was a little nervous that seeing Nick's pictures would make him sad, but it doesn't at all! He loves to look at them, and listen to any home videos with Nick's voice. Every night before we start his bedtime routine, he goes into my room and kissed Nick's picture good night.
I want to send one of these to Nick, but I can't decide which one.
Any opinions?
Sorry I stole your notebook idea Amie. Will you forgive me if I come stay at your house for a week, and make your kids birthday cakes?

Thanks for keeping us updated on Nick. I like the 1st picture. Danny is smiling soooooo cute! You should send him the popsicle/diaper one too :)
